Mid-Autumn Festival / Children's Day ~ Sat., Sept. 15, 2024
The Vietnamese American Cultural & Educational Society (VACES) is a newly established non-profit (Sept. 2024) in the City of Stockton. They host their first Tết Trung Thu or Mid-Autumn/Moon Festival also known in Vietnam as the “Children’s Festival” in over 15 years! The event emphasizes the importance of cultural education for younger generation through dragon dance performances, lantern displays, Vietnamese costume parade and fun contests. It is an excellent opportunity for families and the community to come together and celebrate our rich heritage.
Filipino Farm Workers Opening Ceremony ~ Sat., Sept 8, 2024
"The history of the Filipino Farm Center that once existed in the 1940s - 1960s in Lathrop, CA will be told through a new exhibit at the San Joaquin County Historical Society and Museum. This is a significant part of local Filipino American history that has never been fully documented. It has taken weeks of research, gathering photos, conducting interviews to piece together the history."
